Concentrated bases of floor polishes: Our complete range of preparations allow the formulator to have the necessary base pre-formulation in a single product, in the formulation of polishes for general use. Simply by adding water (up to its final concentration of use) a fully functional preparation is available.
Starting from these concentrates, it is possible to avoid the mixing process and the necessity of keeping stocks of various raw materials. The different polymer / wax ratios mark the character of the product. A formulation with a higher proportion of wax facilitates re-polishing. They provide better adhesion on stone floors and a good filling effect. In addition, resistance to cleaners and water is lower, as well as resistance to general traffic wear.
Low polishability preparations require special means for repair. Polymers formulated with metal salts are more sensitive to alkaline strippers and cleaners. This facilitates the stripping of deteriorated polishes. They are also used in gloss renewal for industrial use.

PRINTING INKS
Our complete range of additives for aqueous inks allow improvement on several parameters, such as gloss, resistance to dry rubbing, water repellency, hardness, leveling, etc; depending on the specific need, we will be able to recommend a particular product.
Flexo and OPV inks: HDPE wax non-ionic emulsions are the basic products. They provide high resistance to dry rubbing at a moderate cost, without reduction in gloss. The basic product is AW 3810. For products in indirect contact with food, or in general, more restrictive applications in terms of components, AW 4840 is the indicated product. For additional protection, AW 8460 dispersion could be used, with a small reduction of gloss.
Inks for pre-printing: AW 8460. This dispersion helps the ink to withstand the subsequent processes to which the printed cardboard is subjected, with great protection against dry rubbing.
When a high COF (coefficient of friction) is necessary, the use of AW 3765 helps in this regard, both in inks and in varnishes. Finally, when it comes to providing an improved feel and reduced tacking, we recommend the use of carnauba wax emulsion AW 1220, with a low surfactant content. If it is also intended to improve water repellency, AW 6815 is an excellent aid.

PAINTS AND VARNISHES
Due to the large number of surfaces that can be coated, seeking mainly to protect them with said coating, we offer the formulator a series of wax-based additives in order to improve the critical properties of finishes.
In particular:
– Regulation of the gloss of the dry film of the finish.
– Improved waterproofing of the film to protect the coated surface from moisture.
– Improved coating feel.
– Increased hardness of the finish (resistance to rubbing and scratching). – -Reduction or elimination of the tack – blocking of the dry film.
For special requirements, we have alternative technical developments to those present in this catalogue, available upon customer request.

OPACIFIER
Our company has recently undertaken a new project for developing specific and optimized products for use as an opacifier in aqueous formulations. Polymer-based preparations have traditionally been used to achieve the optical effect required for commercial and personal care, cosmetic, laundry and household care products.
Our new line of products responds to the growing concern about the release into the environment of low biodegradability products, which remain in the environment for the long term.
The regulations, still under development, on micro-plastics, which have been drawn up by ECHA, a specific EU body that ensures the protection of health and the environment, tries to answer this question. During the development phase, we have paid special attention to the selection of components, to ensure high biodegradability so they are outside any restriction that may be imposed by future legal requirements. We have also optimized development parameters that provide maximum opacifying and stability performance in final formulations.

OTHER APPLICATIONS
Release agents: wax emulsions can be used as a component in the formulation of release agents for a multitude of articles formed in molds. Usually, prior to the injection of the material, the release compound is impregnated on the surface of the mold. In this way, a barrier is formed between the mold and the molded material, which will facilitate and prevent possible damage to the mold and the part in the subsequent separation.
There are many mold release formulations; Because each particular system, affinity between materials, working temperature, etc., greatly condition the choice of components, including the most suitable type of wax emulsion.
Anti-caking agent in the production of pellets in thermoplastics and thermo-adhesives: the production of thermoplastics (TPE, EVA, TPU) is affected by the fact that the product can deteriorate under adverse storage and transport conditions, and it may be the case that its use is not possible, due to agglomeration of the units in the product to be dispensed. This is also a problem for hot-applied adhesives, since the pellets or tablets that are produced can stick together when the product tacking is activated. This phenomenon called “caking” occurs in the presence of heat and / or pressure in storage.
A wax-based coating on the surface of the pellet allows the product units to be isolated from each other to reduce, or even prevent this adhesion. This system is an alternative to the incorporation of anti-caking agents in the product formulation itself, which require a large amount of additives that can cause the product to loose certain properties and as a result, make it more expensive.
For this we recommend the use of our products by incorporating them in the cooling water, since they can be diluted in water during the cutting process under water submersion. It is recommended that the pellets subsequently pass through a drying tunnel to ensure the correct fixation of the coating.
Formulation of textile auxiliaries: Wax emulsions are capable of providing various benefits when applied to textiles. They can be used in the formulation of softeners. Softeners, with a complementary action to silicone fluids, as well as their use as a lubricant in sewing on natural or synthetic fibres. The properties of the product allow an improved resistance to tearing and abrasion, as well as to facilitate in handling and sewing.
Car Body polishes: wax emulsions are used in aqueous systems, in different products for car care:
Formulation of detergents for car washing, providing a more caring effect.
Such use is substantiated, in that the emulsified wax particles are grouped in micro-cracks in the paint caused by scratches, etc., partially covering them and providing a perceived improvement to the appearance of the paintwork. The use of polishing waxes provides an excellent final appearance. Its use is recommended in mixed formulations based on ethoxylated fatty alcohols and sulfonated alkyl benzene, on which the wax emulsions are added in a ratio of 1:10 to 1: 4 (solids of the wax component over solids of the surfactant components).
For the water repellent / brightener formulation, to be applied after the final rinsing phase, we recommend our product AW 9360. It is a concentrated preparation consisting of a mixed non-ionic / cationic aqueous emulsion of waxes, oils and quaternary esters. After application, quick drying is achieved, as the water “runs off” quickly from the impregnated surfaces. Likewise, it gives an increase in brightness to the paintwork, due to its wax content in its composition, since the particles are grouped together in the micro-scratches of the paint.
Paint polishes. As an alternative to solvent systems, we especially recommend our carnauba wax and paraffin wax emulsions. Aqueous systems can be formulated in liquid or cream / gel. Fully compatible with silicone emulsions and other formulation additives.
Formulation of moisture barrier coatings and permeability regulation: the formulation of wax emulsions provides the capability of forming a continuous layer, capable of regulating the permeability of moisture that may pass through, functioning as a true membrane.
This coating, applied to a multitude of supports (Is ‘supports’ the right word?) such as paper, or directly onto the article to be treated: fertilizers, citrus fruits, etc. This allows regulation of moisture loss from the interior to the exterior, or vice versa: reducing the solubilization rate and thus delaying the permanence process.
A careful selection of components is key for each specific system. We will be happy to advise you on your particular application.
